Simon Diener is a research associate at the Bern University of Applied Sciences (HAFL), specializing in rural sociology and environmental anthropology. He holds a degree in economics from Bern and a research master’s in social sciences from Amsterdam, where he used ethnographic methods to study how Swiss farmers draw on local environmental knowledge to adapt to climate change. At BFH, his current work focuses on climate change, adaptation, and rural transformation across several research projects.
