Site of Symposium: BFH-HAFL Campus

The symposium will take place at the BFH-HAFL campus in Zollikofen – an inspiring location surrounded by fields and forests, with stunning views of the Alps. It's the perfect setting to reflect on  current and future challenges of work in agriculture.

Getting there by public transport:

We recommend traveling by train. From Bern, the S8 train to Jegenstorf runs every 15 minutes. Get off at Oberzollikofen, walk through the underpass, and follow the signs to BFH-HAFL. The walk takes approximately 10 minutes.
During peak hours, you can also take the Bus No. 41 (Breitenrain–Zollikofen) from Oberzollikofen directly to the "Rütti-Hochschule" stop, which is located right in front of the campus.

Bern Youth Hostel

The Bern Youth Hostel is located near the river Aare in the Marzili quarter of the city of Berne. The main station of Berne is reachable 10 minutes by feet, the old city lies right above the hostel. A cable car ride of 1 minute brings you up from Marzili to the federal palace, which is in the center of Berne. The hostel offers beds in double rooms, four bed rooms and shared rooms. It is the perfect fit for a comfortable, centrally located and low-budget overnight stay.

Hostel 77 Bern

The Hostel 77 Bern is located at the bottom of Bern’s local mountain Gurten, the main station of Berne and the old city are reachable in 7 minutes by bus. The hostel offers breakfast, a garden terrace and a bar. The Bern Ticket for free use of all public transport in the city of Berne with which you can reach BFH-HAFL is included in the price. The hostel offers beds in single, double and 4-bed rooms. It is the perfect fit for a cozy and low-budget overnight stay.

Hotel Waldhorn

The 3-star hotel Waldhorn lies in a calm, central quarter of Berne. A short walk across the bridge of Kornhaus brings you straight to the heart of the old city of Berne. The hotel is located near the tram station “Viktoriaplatz”, from which you reach the main station and the Wankdorf station in 10 minutes. The Bern Ticket is included in the price, with which you can use all public transport in Berne and reach BFH-HAFL. The hotel offers single and double bedrooms, a rich breakfast is included. Student Residence at BFH-HAFL
BFH-HAFL, Länggasse 85, 3052 Zollikofen

The student residence is located on the campus of BFH-HAFL. It offers single rooms with a washbasin inside and access to shared bathrooms and toilets. Duvet, pillow and bed linen are provided, as well as a set of towels.

The minimum stay is 4 nights.

If you would like to stay in the BFH-HAFL student residence, please contact us at iswa2026.hafl@bfh.ch. Priority will be given to students and individuals with low income. We will then provide you with further information on the application process.
